The Decisions the Exam Tests

The concept. This exam tests decisions rather than features, and much of what it asks has no documentation page behind it. Those decisions come from doing the work, a thousand hours on a live deployment, and the field is too young for many to have had the chance. What remains is assembly: tutorials, courses, and candidates telling each other what the exam wants. This is the third option, a single continuous read.

How it was built. Anthropic’s own documentation and the published exam guide were the only source of truth, and every claim carries the URL of the page it came from. Thirty hours of candidates discussing the exam went in as a list of topics worth covering and grounded nothing; where it pointed, the writing went to the documentation and found out.

Inside each chapter. The decision at stake, named first, with what it costs to get wrong. Mistakes carry names, so they can be recognised in an option list you have never seen. A table pairs a signal in the question with the answer it points to and the trap it hides. A coverage map fails to build if any of the thirty-eight objectives is unclaimed or claimed twice.
