What the Exam Actually Asks You to Build

The concept. The blueprint publishes a weight for every skill, and they are not where a developer would guess. The largest domain, a third of the paper, is REST semantics, versioning, review discipline and application boundaries: ordinary engineering pointed at an unusual dependency. Evaluation and debugging, the part that sounds hardest, is 2.6%. Across a spread like that, study time allocated by interest goes to the wrong place. The blueprint also files skills by the department that owns them, which splits decisions made in the same hour, so the chapters run in the order the work happens.

How it was built. Three kinds of source, ranked in advance. Anthropic’s documentation and the published exam guide may ground a claim outright, and where the two differ the documentation wins. Engineering posts are consulted only where both are silent, which is why few appear.

How to read it. Every chapter closes on a list written to survive with it shut. Read them all first, then go back into the chapter behind any line you could not justify. Headers state their conclusions, so a chapter’s header list summarises it.

No tutorial, no cookbook, no API reference, nothing to answer. It assumes a developer who has called an API, and argues the choice between mechanisms that all work.
