Living with Myositis
A Practical, Evidence-Based Guide to Inflammatory Myopathy, Its Treatment, and Daily Life
The concept. Someone close to me was diagnosed with myositis, a rare autoimmune disease of the muscles. There was almost nothing written about it that a patient could read. The research exists, but it is spread across hundreds of papers in dense medical language. So I had one book built from that research, and from nothing else.
How it was built. From clinical studies, society guidelines and regulatory documents. Every clinical claim carries an endnote linking to the published source it came from, so any statement can be checked. If a source is wrong, the book is wrong with it, and the link shows exactly where. Patient webinars and sponsored talks are listed only as further listening.
What’s inside. What the disease is and how its subtypes differ, the tests and numbers, treatment and side effects, exercise, nutrition, the organs it can reach and when to seek help at once, therapies still in trials, and questions for your rheumatologist.
It was written by software, not a doctor, and says so on the first pages. It does not prescribe. It is for a patient or family member who wants to understand the condition and bring better questions to the next appointment.
